We are investing in your creativity
Coming from the family of printers, holding this legacy of correct techniques and 54 machines, I can say I have had quite an experience in sublimation. For me, it started when my grandfather would take me to our press after picking me up from school, hang out & talk about prints & various types of clothing.
I would see my dad being so passionate in quality checking the team and doing his work dedicatedly. He taught me the science behind colorful prints and how to maintain those big machines to get quality output. I grew up seeing my mentors working hard. It was so exciting for me to visit the press and the sound of those machines was ‘music to my ear’.
Every single minute spent at the press makes me curious 😲 to learn this art as i was so obsessed with colors. After finishing my homework I used to move around the press and watch skilled people creating beautiful and vibrant designs. It excites me 🤩.
My grandfather saw my curiosity and he secretly teach me his best tricks of perfect prints. He used to dream of me that one day I will be doing the printing work in the press but at that time I was not sure of it as I wanted to be a painter and paint beautiful paintings.
In my school I always participated in various painting competitions and won a few of them. I also won national level painting competitions but never got a chance to try further. My favorite piece was when I painted my dad working in the press on Father’s Day. My father liked that painting so much that he hung it in his room.
Until the age of 17 I visited the press regularly, but then I moved to Manchester to complete my studies. I did my bachelor’s and master’s degree from ‘Manchester School of the Arts’.
I was in the city for around 7 years, but I miss visiting my grandfather’s press. I met many people in college who were great artists, and I learned amazing painting styles from them. After completing my degrees, I started working with ‘NorthernArtistry’. But there was never a single day when I did not remember my home and grandfather’s press. I started feeling home sick.
The turning point
In 2019 I couldn’t travel to my home for Christmas, however i planned a party with my friends at my place. I thought of doing something creative and unique. So, I used my experience and knowledge and decided to create custom T-shirts for everyone coming to the party. This is when I bought my first set of sublimation equipment.
I set it up in my room and finalized a design for printing. And to my surprise, the designs on T-shirts looked so vibrant and amazing. Everyone at the party loved it and some of my friends asked me to make a few more customized T-shirts for them. I was on cloud nine and printed more T-shirts.
Next year I went to my home in Bellshill, Scotland, I shared my T-Shirt printing experience with my dad and grandfather. They were super proud of me and suggested that I should start my own sublimation work. I was still not sure about it as I wanted to paint.
Next month my father organized a party to celebrate 25th anniversary of our printing press. I also attended our party and honestly visiting the press after 7 years was too overwhelming. I got a chance to refresh my childhood memories. I took a walk with my grandfather and saw those machines doing the work perfectly. I got so obsessed, and this obsession made me start my own sublimation business.
I was happy to follow the footprints of my mentors. I started the business with 2 sublimation printers, 2 heat presses, and a Cricut machine. Creating sublimation designs is my meditation now and I can easily spend an entire day crafting these designs.
Initially, I made tumblers for a kid’s birthday party and then I made custom T-Shirts for our local cycling team. After the cycling competition my work became famous in Scotland, and I started receiving multiple orders. I used to work 18 hours a day to complete the orders. Both my mentors were guiding me to run the business smoothly.
For many years I was serving my town and creating colorful custom-made items for them. Once i was chatting with my friend overseas and showing him my work. He was amazed and suggested expanding my business on a worldwide level so that everyone could get my custom-made items. It was a big thing for me, but after some time I decided to take my business online and serve a worldwide audience rather than only our town. So, here I am now, showcasing my experience and knowledge via LetsSublimate.com.
